Advanced Scuba Diver

Open Water certification teaches you to dive safely. The NAUI Advanced Scuba Diver course teaches you to dive well, and to dive somewhere more interesting than a shallow, sheltered bay.
This course is built around a minimum of six open-water dives. Three are fixed: underwater navigation, night or low-visibility diving, and a deep dive to a maximum of forty meters (130 feet). The remaining three are yours to choose, matched to whatever direction you want your diving to take next.
Popular elective dives include search and recovery, wreck diving without penetration, drift diving, underwater photography and video, boat diving procedures, and diving with a computer instead of tables. If Lebanon's coastline has a wreck or reef site you have been wanting to see properly, this is usually the course where it happens.
Because every dive is logged and debriefed individually, you leave this course not just with a card, but with a clear, honest sense of which conditions and activities you are genuinely comfortable in, and which ones deserve a bit more practice before you go there without an instructor.
The Advanced card meaningfully widens where you can dive: deep sites to the full 40-metre recreational limit, night entries, and conditions that entry-level training doesn't cover. It is also the gate to Deep Diver, Master Scuba Diver, and most specialty training.

What dives make up the Advanced course?
A minimum of six open-water dives: navigation, night or low-visibility, and a deep dive to a maximum of 40 metres are required, and the remaining three are electives you pick with your instructor, wreck, drift, photography, search and recovery, and more.
How deep can I dive after this course?
Training covers deep diving to the 40-metre / 130-foot recreational limit. Just as importantly, you learn to plan gas, manage ascent discipline, and judge which sites match your experience.
Do I need a certain number of logged dives first?
No fixed dive count is required, you need a current Open Water certification (or equivalent) and reasonable comfort in the water. The course itself is how you gain structured experience in new conditions.
Why take Advanced instead of just diving more?
Casual dives repeat what you already know. Advanced puts an instructor beside you the first time you navigate, dive at night, and go deep, so the habits you build are correct from the start, and it unlocks Deep Diver, Master Scuba Diver, and most specialties.
